Goal Setting for Teens for Short term & Long term Goals
Teens often possess gifts, abilities, knowledge, dreams, and are often being shown how to be successful by several influencers in their life. Even still, your teen can’t process what to do with the information from their parents, mentors, and teachers if they’ve never been shown how to properly set goals. This is the part in their development in which they start to expand upon what they have been taught with the hopes of turning dreams into their reality. Don’t allow your child to be one that becomes an adult and says to you that they never felt like they could do much in life. This is the statement from an adult of whom felt disadvantaged during their teen years and wasn’t raised in an environment where they were shown how their goals could be achieved. Coach T is here to help you as the parent avoid that same situation with your teen.

Goal Setting for Teens for Short term & Long term Goals
The first session with Coach T is typically with the parents because we would want to ensure that the goal setting behavior that we will be seeking from the teen is being modeled in the home as the standard example of what the expectations will be ongoing. The point in meeting with parents first is to address patterns at home that could be encouraging the child to follow what they assume to be healthy. When parents don’t model great goal setting methods in their own lives, then their actions could be heard loud and clear by the teen making it a difficult process for everyone once Coach T begins to work with the teen exclusively.
