Better Communication
Life as a teenager can be a very tensed time in your child’s life. It is very common for parents to experience their teen dealing with extreme sadness, anger, and even having difficulty maintaining or developing healthy relationships. The core of these symptoms could simply be that your teen is not connecting properly with others. Step one in the coaching process will be to first identify your child’s communication style.
Better Communication
Coach T is here to help with that process! This topic seems to be really simple but it is more complex than most parents think. If you have not yet identified your child as passive, aggressive, passive-aggressive, or assertive based on how he/she communicates usually then it can easily become enormously difficult to lead, guide, or coach him/her. Have no fear parents because Coach T will not only help you to heighten your awareness about communicating positively with your teen but your teen will be guided to the correct path of learning how to:
• Understand how to communicate assertively without being aggressive
• Be clear about what he/she wants
• Listen mindfully
• Be nonjudgmental
• Validate others (Clarifying what is being said by others before making general assumptions)
• Act according to his/her true values and morals
• Be confident enough to not feel the need to over-apologize while not being too prideful to apologize.
